Hi, I'm Larry Byrne.
I'm the founder of Court Gear, a small Irish racquet sports retailer based in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
Before I tell you about Court Gear, I want to tell you what Court Gear isn't.
We're not a giant retailer.
We're not a multinational company.
We're not a faceless website with a call centre and automated replies.
When you contact Court Gear, you're contacting me.
If you have a question, send me an email.
If you'd rather talk, give me a call.
If you're local, I might even deliver your order myself.
Court Gear started because of my passion for racquet sports and the communities built around them.
Racquetball is where my own sporting journey began, but Court Gear is about much more than one sport. Today you'll find me learning and playing padel, pickleball and other racquet sports as I continue my recovery from ACL reconstruction and work towards returning to competitive racquetball.
One of my goals is to understand the sports, clubs and players that make up the Irish racquet sports community. That's why you'll regularly find me visiting clubs, attending events and getting out on court myself.
I'm not trying to be the biggest retailer in Ireland.
I'm trying to build one of the most trusted.
You might not see every product on the website.
That doesn't mean I can't get it.
I have access to a much wider range of equipment through my suppliers, including the full Head range and products from a number of leading brands.
If you're looking for something specific, just ask.
If I can get it, I'll do my best to source it.
If I can help you find a better option, I'll tell you.
If I can save you money, I will.
I work with individual players, clubs, schools and community groups and I'm always happy to discuss equipment, club orders, tournament prizes, gift vouchers and special requirements.
I'm not trying to build a business based on one-off sales.
I'm trying to build relationships.
I'm trying to earn trust.
And I'm trying to create a business that players and clubs feel comfortable coming back to.
Every order matters.
Every customer matters.
Every recommendation matters.
